Filing a Report
Non-emergency incidents can be reported online, by phone at (319) 352-5400, or in person at the police station at 111 4th Street NE. For emergencies, always call 911. Online reporting is available for minor theft, criminal mischief, lost property, and other non-emergency incidents where there are no known suspects.
Requesting Records
Copies of police reports, accident reports, and other department records can be requested in person or by mail. A records request form must be completed and submitted to the Administrative Division. Some records may be subject to fees for copies. Certain records may be restricted under Iowa Code Chapter 22.
Call Statistics
The Waverly Police Department responds to an average of 8,000 to 10,000 calls for service annually, ranging from traffic stops and noise complaints to criminal investigations and emergency responses. Monthly and annual statistics are compiled and presented to the City Council. The department is committed to transparency and data-driven policing.
