Divisions
Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is the largest component of the department and provides 24/7 uniformed presence throughout the city. Patrol officers respond to calls for service, conduct proactive patrols, enforce traffic laws, and serve as the first responders to emergencies. Officers are assigned to rotating shifts to ensure continuous coverage.
Investigative Division
The Investigative Division handles follow-up investigations of criminal cases including theft, fraud, assault, drug offenses, and other crimes. Detectives work closely with patrol officers, the Bremer County Attorney's office, and regional law enforcement agencies. The division also coordinates evidence collection and crime scene processing.
Administrative Division
The Administrative Division manages department records, budgeting, training coordination, policy development, and public communications. This division also oversees the department's community policing programs, school resource officer assignments, and partnerships with other agencies. Administrative staff handle records requests and background check processing.
