Online Databases

Library cardholders have free access to a variety of online databases for research, including newspaper archives, academic journals, genealogy resources, automotive repair guides, and consumer reports. Databases can be accessed in the library or remotely with a valid library card number. Staff are available to help you get started.

Local & Family History

The library maintains a local history collection including Waverly and Bremer County newspapers on microfilm, city directories, yearbooks, and community histories. The genealogy collection includes Ancestry Library Edition (in-library use), newspapers.com, and other resources for family history research. Staff can assist with research strategies and finding local records.

Other Libraries & Resources

The Waverly Public Library is a member of the Northeast Iowa Library Service Area and participates in resource sharing with libraries across the state. Residents may also access resources at Wartburg College's Vogel Library and other area libraries. Staff can help connect you with specialized collections and research services beyond our walls.
