Permits & Fees
Building Permits
Building permits are required for new construction, additions, alterations, and demolition. Permit applications are reviewed by Community Development staff and typically processed within five to ten business days. Plans and specifications must accompany the application for new structures and significant alterations.
Other Permits
In addition to building permits, the department issues zoning permits, sign permits, fence permits, burn permits, and driveway approach permits. Rental property owners must register and maintain current rental inspection certificates. Contact the office for specific permit requirements for your project.
Fee Schedule
Permit fees are established by city ordinance and are based on project valuation or a flat rate depending on permit type. Fee schedules are available at the Community Development office and on the city website. Fees are due at the time of application.
