Parks & Trails

City Parks

Waverly maintains over a dozen city parks totaling more than 200 acres of green space. Parks range from neighborhood pocket parks with playgrounds to larger community parks with athletic fields, picnic shelters, and river access. Kohlmann Park, Elm Park, and Northeast Park are among the most popular gathering spots.

Cedar Valley Trails

Waverly is connected to the regional Cedar Valley trail system, offering paved multi-use trails for biking, walking, and jogging. The trail system links Waverly to surrounding communities and passes through scenic corridors along the Cedar River. Trailheads with parking are available at several locations in the city.

Special Facilities

Brookwood Park features an 18-hole disc golf course that is free and open to the public year-round. The Waverly Dog Park provides a fenced off-leash area for dogs and their owners. The Community Garden offers rental plots for residents interested in growing their own produce during the growing season.

Park Shelters

Picnic shelters are available for reservation at many city parks. Shelters include picnic tables, grills, and electricity. Some larger shelters accommodate events of 100 or more guests. Reservations can be made through the Leisure Services office starting January 2 for the upcoming season.
