Home security
Lock doors and windows, use exterior lighting, keep shrubs trimmed around entry points, and consider a home security system. Report suspicious activity to non-emergency dispatch at (608) 755-3100.
Vehicle security
Lock your vehicle every time you leave it, even in your driveway. Never leave valuables visible in the car. Remove keys and garage door openers from unattended vehicles.
Scam and fraud prevention
Be wary of unsolicited calls, emails, or messages requesting personal information or payment. The City will never call to demand immediate payment. Report suspected scams to the Police Department.
Emergency preparedness
Sign up for city alerts to receive emergency notifications. Have a family emergency plan and supplies kit. Know your evacuation routes.
